Inflight Score ("we", "us", or "our") operates the InflightScore mobile application (the "App"). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information when you use our App.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

• Email address (used for account creation and authentication)

Flight & Usage Data

• Flight search queries (origin airport, destination airport, flight number, departure date/time)
• Turbulence scores and forecasts you view

Device Information

• Push notification token (for Apple Push Notification Service)
• Device type and operating system version
• Accelerometer data (processed entirely on-device for live turbulence readings; never sent to our servers)

Location Data

• Approximate device location, used only to identify nearby airports when you choose to use that feature
• Location is not continuously tracked or stored on our servers
• You can deny location permission and still use the App by entering airports manually

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide turbulence forecasts and flight search functionality
• To authenticate your account and maintain your session
• To send push notifications about your tracked flights (turbulence alerts, score updates)
• To determine nearby airports based on your location
• To improve the App and fix bugs

3. Data Sources

Turbulence forecasts are derived from NOAA's High-Resolution Rapid Refresh (HRRR) weather model, which is publicly available United States government data. Flight information is sourced from third-party aviation data providers.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data.

We share data only with the following third-party services as necessary to operate the App:

• Apple Push Notification Service (APNS): Your device token is sent to Apple to deliver push notifications.
• FlightAware: Flight route and schedule data is queried to match your tracked flights.

5. Push Notifications

The App uses Apple Push Notification Service to send you alerts about your tracked flights, such as updated turbulence scores. You can opt out at any time via iOS Settings > Notifications > Inflight Score.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

• Account data is retained as long as your account is active.
• Flight search history is retained to provide your flight tracking functionality.
• You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at the email below. Deletion will be completed within 30 days of your request.

7. Account Deletion

You can delete your account within the App under Settings, or by emailing us. When you delete your account, all personal data associated with it (email, flight searches, notification tokens) will be permanently removed from our servers within 30 days.

8. Data Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including HTTPS/TLS encryption for all data in transit and secure password hashing. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Opt out of data collection or sharing
• Data portability

10. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us so we can promptly remove it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of changes by updating the "Effective date" at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
